I was gonna repost it! I just wanted to add some context haha

 

I just don’t know how you do a full play through album fest and only be one day that’s so little time

 

I saw the ‘59 sound album set and it’s cool and all but if I’m making the effort to go to a show I probably love the band and would like to hear songs from throughout their career

 

I feel like set construction in general is an art just like album construction is and being able to do both is good

 

I hate to compliment Blink-182 for a second, but I thought it was actually kinda cool for them to incorporate +44 and Box Car Racer songs.

I get why that’s a unique setup, and why like TGA wouldn’t toss an Elsie song in a setlist, but I think it speaks more to me enjoying a wider range setlist

 

Album sets are kinda cool for specific bands or specific albums that they don’t play a ton of songs from but the last few I’ve gone to kinda sucked and they played like 2 additional songs besides the album and that’s lame.

I've seen Thursday Full Collapse and WATT and then the Drive By Truckers stuff and I don't remember if I've seen any other full albums

I don't really pay much attention to WWWY cuz it seems like a thing for people to have fun at but also not for me

I used to be skeptical of it cuz it kinda looked like a scam but turns out it was legit

 

Oh yeah before that first one I think I was very skeptical of it working lol

 

I do certainly get being mad about buying a product and it not being what was advertised but also I think fans should have way less expectations or entitlements over set lists

 

The DCFC/postal service show was great cause those are 2 of my favorite albums from high school. Saw both Thursday full album tours and thought they were just okay. Getting to see the hotelier play home, like noplace is there was awesome though.

 

We missed The Hotelier one cuz of COVID :(

 

I liked the WATT tour cuz I got to sit on a couch upstairs at Trees for the whole set

 

Oh the Saosin show my friend opened was a full album set too but I left early to go eat pie with my friends (not euphemism)

 

the full collapse show was better here simply because it was a better venue, I absolutely hate the venue they did WATT at.

 

Yeah the Full Collapse tour I went to (I think it was many years before) was at a different venue, I liked both venues though. Trees is an institution and it better not ever close
