tellin yall I used all my superpowers on weed lol. I can smoke weed endlessly and never get "too high" and barely cough. That's enough drug skills for me lmao

 

longing for the day they have designated smoking areas in stadiums that allow weed. Shit even if they're selling joints for $30 and don't allow outside weed like they do with alcohol, I'd still greatly enjoy being high for more than just the first quarter and half the second lol

Last concert I was drunk at was Laura Stevenson and it was amazing. My god that was so long ago. Life is fleeting

 

(Thanks Matt & Jordan for already liking the post) if anyone's curious about my band's sound, here's 8 short live clips from our shows the past 6 months, from 8 different songs. The first 7 are all on the upcoming album, the last one is an early band version of one of my solo songs (which we've since improved).

It's cool to look back and actually be proud of how we sound live. We are constantly improving our detail and I could be a better & more consistent singer with in-ear monitors. But these early-stages clips sound pretty satisfying considering we hadn't even been active for a year.

The 8th song on the record that isn't in these clips is more of an indie song than a punk song, kinda influenced by Trans-Narrow Stairs era Death Cab and the more grooving / smooth songs mewithoutYou makes. So there's some variety.

 

I've had these songs forever - but this year is my first time playing them live with an actually really good drummer and with a lot of live production via guitar pedals and two amps, so it feels like Terrain's finally being launched for REAL after a long trial and error period where I learned a lot about booking shows and playing live from 2014-2018.

the guy being like ... im glad my family is dead and I grew up with money and have all that money now and wouldn't rather be poor with my family alive but it is soooo hard to date with all this money because they just want my money

That said though idk if i fuck with the general culture of Californians. LA may be LA because it's a huge metropolitan city and I might not have that problem there, but jeez if there isn't a major chasm between my worldview and the sommelier from Napa Valley that got hired recently at my job lol. He's a nice guy but he looks at the entire world through privelege-colored glasses

 

do a lot of sommeliers not have privilege

not necessarily, your company will pay you to go taste wine if they think you have the potential to do that, and it's as simple as taking tests and getting certified. The last guy was old and grumpy but he wasn't nearly as uppity as this guy haha
