Yeah that’s scary for sure. We can get tornadoes with hurricanes but obviously we know that a giant storm is coming. This one is a little tricky to pinpoint an exact landfall point because it’s small for a cat 5, but we’re not going to play that game and wait.

 

I did a tier ranking of natural disasters that I think I could handle and tornadoes were #1 with a bullet in the "nope nope nope nope nope" category

I don’t think you’re trying to excuse anything. But imo stronger positions should be taken or else you’ll never begin to address the issues. I can make a strong case for having a zero tolerance policy in a league of professionals that are representing a city or region.

Other than that, there may be complicated situations but anything that would hinder a victim from pursuing justice should be addressed, not justified. For example, with protection from abuse orders we see how often they fail to be enforced, and how men with enough money get them expunged and then more violence occurs. If anything the laws should be stronger in protecting vulnerable people, and the ones already there should be enforced.

 

My little(ish) Ohio town had 3 tornadoes this past year, and they are definitely terrifying. Especially because we aren’t supposed to get tornadoes here at all! It’s almost like the climate is changing

 

This is what I'd prefer. Victims get so little help and its already pretty difficult to get restraining orders and the like and then to even get them enforced? almost fucking forget about it. Justice system is so shitty towards victims, it's frustrating!

I'm all for stronger repercussions. Maybe something where the league just outright bans you or something in a way where it doesn't fall on the victim to lead the charge or something.

In my real life, an I don't sweat you, because they almost never venture up this way and if they do they have def been downgraded to a tropical storm.

But probably in reality a #2 because they are incredibly predictable and I, being a coward, know that if I lived in Florida right now I would have already Evac'd and thus not been in danger.

 

Predictability is def playing a role in some of these. For the most part, we know when a volcano is gonna blow or a hurricane is gonna be a problem, so I would simply get in my car and drive somewhere else.

Tornados just fucking happen man. Fuck that.

 

Avalanche and landslide would be an automatic rip.

None which is exactly my point Sean lol. I've lived through Blizzards and Hurricane and Earthquakes. I have unearned confidence in those storms. I've only seen tsunamis in action films and have decided I want exactly no part of that.

Also on Earthquakes, I'm just playing the numbers here. We have a shit ton of them as a country and I feel like 95% of them are mostly a "whoa did you feel that" on twitter event.
