It was the best way to acknowledge that kids are naturally disruptive and annoying to adult activity, but in a way that is also understandable and wouldn’t actually bother me loll

 

The one time I met Kirby he was so excited to make a new friend that @spiffa0 couldn’t get a word in edgewise lol

he kept trying to be like “alright Declan well don’t you wanna play with your legos?” And trying to nudge him along to let us do our thing - and he just would not even acknowledge him and would say something else to me, it was so funny

I feel like most of the happiest moments of anyone’s life tend to be when they’re a kid (of course there are exceptions and some people had rough childhoods so def not speaking for everybody) so I try not to ruin kids’ fun even if they’re annoying the shit out of me lol. They remember EVERYTHING in terms of how an adult treated them and everything affects their psyche, it’s so nuts how malleable and sensitive they are so I try my hardest to be careful

 

I think if I had the right career to AFFORD being a father I’d be a good dad. But in reality / capitalism I would need to shut down this whole music thing and double down on that tech job before that begins to be a possibility

I still have supporters in Jacksonville apparently. I asked to join a Jax date on stop drop rewind’s next tour on a whim, haven’t played there in 5 years but the owner of the venue loves / still remembers me and would book me anytime.

off of one Facebook post I made about potentially returning for a show next month, I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get enough donations to fund my train ticket there and back. (Of course the “donation” is buying a Terrain shirt)

 

I also know a SKILLED drummer and bassist who are best friends and are very comfortable with indie / emo / punk style playing, who might learn a set if I send them some demos. So even though my regular drummer can’t make it I can still probably play full band. That bassist has learned my songs and played a few shows with Terrain before.
