@MidDave i don’t know if I’m gonna make the show tonight. It being a Sunday and an hour away and being the Alkaline Trio headlining is not ideal, but we got a HORRIBLE night sleep with trying to keep the 2 cats separate and I feel terrible leaving my wife with them on night 2 when they still aren’t acquainted with each other and the kitten is crazy lol

Yeah they’ve been separated. We’re keeping the kitten in our bedroom so we can keep an eye on him and then the other cat has free roam to the condo, however at night, BOTH cats wanna be in bed with us so the other cat was meowing and crying to come in all night lol

So we’ve been trying to obviously keep them separate but they BOTH wanna be in the room with us. And we didn’t wanna put the kitten in the 2nd bedroom because that’s where the litter boxes are for the older cat and if we moved his litter box he’d lose it lol

SO after non stop crying one of us slept in the living room with the older cat so he was with one of us and then one of us slept in the bedroom with the and we finally knew peace hahaha

 

Ahh ok definitely an understandable dilemma then.

 

After years of my mom doing the absolute worst cat introductions growing up we knew the basics on what NOT to do and felt we had a good plan, the only thing we didn’t account for is the kitten being severely attached to us after 12 hours and not wanting to be alone lol

 

this is all true but I actually was also just saying “one of the songs” to be goofy lol

but even if the post was intended to show pride in my music… I’ve been a musician for almost 25 years and this album’s songs have been in the works since before the pandemic, I’d HOPE I’m proud of them and think they’re awesome by now lol. Not really a fan of the idea that musicians shouldn’t be high on their own music, why the fuck not lol it’s a passion project and it takes forever to finish… musicians SHOULD be proud of their progress and self promote. What, am I supposed to NOT be very about the music I’m spending thousands out of pocket making lol? Do you like, build a deck yourself for your house and sit there after it’s done thinking “nah I suck this sucks”, no! You’d be proud af of that deck and inviting friends over for cookouts just to show it off lol

it’s a very anti success mentality to think that musicians should be meek about promoting their material and not talk about it like it’s really good, even though the whole point of spending years on an album is so it will be really good lol. That’s the whole point is to make music you’d really wanna listen to. If I *don’t* feel like that then it’s not finished! People shouldn’t feel pressured to be shy about their talents -

and honestly in black culture that’s not even a thing, no one gets mad at you for knowing you are good at something you work HARD on and not hiding the fact that you’re proud of it. Do y’all not see among athletes and hip hop artists that it’s actually welcomed to show some pride in your craft? I could say the same thing to a black friend and they’d be like “I know that’s right Randall” and hype me up about it lol, never vibed with the white culture concept of “pretend your art/craft sucks so people will think you’re humble”, which in itself is an act to get a certain kind of attention. You can be proud of your work and still be humble
