oh duh MCR is right up there with best live shows. seeing them play TBP in entirety was, as the children say, a core memory.

MUTEMATH is probably the best live band I’ve seen.

    two naughty red bulls

Worst sets I've ever seen live:
Letlive. during the U/O "farewell" tour. Got to the point where the singer wasn't even singing, he was just climbing on every single tall thing he could find at Jannus Live in St. Pete. It was a good spectacle though

Origami Angel - This was during their tour with The Wonder Years in 2022. The performance wasn't bad but the guitar was so loud it was physically painful to my ears. My date was the first stop of the tour so I'm sure they dialed it in later, and I think it was probably their first tour playing 1-1.5k rooms consistently and being a 2 piece it made sense. I saw them on their headliner later that year and they sounded great, and I figured it was just an unfortunate thing earlier that year

Eisley - Boring as shit, wanted to die

I've also seen Brokencyde live before, shoulda ended it there

    ok

I saw linkin park as my first real show, I don’t remember a lot because it was so long ago but it was excellent. Wish I would’ve been able to get tickets to this short tour but I am broke af, sadge.

put a warm eye mask on for like fifteen minutes every night before bed, you’ll be good in a week or so

I don’t remember a lot of bad shows tbh, most of the time it’s usually because of the sound guy and not the band being bad itself. Sadly, the last time I saw alexisonfire the sound was awful. Not sure if it’s because trash talk wrecked the stage before them or what but the volume levels were brutal.

also you kinda see less bad shows when you like bands that put out good albums. not always a 1:1 but it tends to go a bit hand in hand! you never hear about a band that has absolutely terrible albums that is incredible live

One Ok Rock was pretty excellent when I saw them, their singer is phenomenal live.

Anberlin with Matty Mullins opening for Yellowcard was so bad though. Not sure how they ended up with him as their singer.

I don't think anyone else really stands out as being bad. I took my sister to the Jonas Brothers for her birthday once and they were so full of themselves sans Kevin that it was so hard to look past that and not be annoyed the whole time.

Tell me what I missed Supporter

Green Day is as close as it's gotten for me, when I saw them they were touring off of 21st Century Breakdown and they were so good live that I thought "maybe I haven't given this album a fair chance, all the songs sound amazing live!" Then I went home and listened and it was still pretty awful

But that's based off them releasing an entire career's worth of great albums before that so probably an outlier being a legacy band

Yeah, I think we’re completely and totally out of options. We’re losing this house.

I was gonna say, they make their new stuff sound so good live and every time I revisit it I'm so disappointed. But I also felt that way about LP's later stuff, too. They always just sounded better live than their studio records.
