they were incredible when i saw them a few years ago, but it does seem like its a roll of the dice what you get.

 

I saw Bright Eyes at a festival very briefly and left because I wasn't in the mood for that on Kanye day (sigh RIP)

 

Haven’t seen Bright Eyes yet, might go when they’re here in April

Worst live performance I've seen is Xiu Xiu (didn't ask)

Dude played drone sounds for half an hour and literally barked in the microphone for 5 seconds and then never said another word

Best part was seeing all the hip people pretending they were getting into it and trying to dance to the sounds even though there was no actual rhythm being used

Then Swans went on and were great but I later learned that Michael Gira sucks and is a rapist
