This was the one thing I was straight up wrong about and even then, “okay”, he had four 3500 yard passing years. *shrug* that doesn’t change what my overall point was

the best counterpoints Matt raised did alter my perspective though - the one about the yards before & after contact and when he actually put their full turnover / TD ratios side by side but I still feel the same way about Cam as a PASSER I just maybe minimized his running more than I should’ve in the spirit of pointing out that he was usually statistically mediocre as a passer

yeah they can and did, but I also made clear my point wasn’t just about the yards it was about the ratio between yardage production and how efficient the yardage was

I can admit I was wrong though that Lamar is far more efficient overall, mostly cause of the fumbles, the difference is smaller than I thought. But being a far more productive runner and also a much higher completion percentage passer still makes the two not equivalent. & I wouldn’t argue that fumbled are entirely equivalent to INTS - not that it’s better to carelessly drop the ball than carelessly throw it, but at least less INTs and more completion percentage is a sign of responsible reads being made

 

That wasn’t what I said. I said 3500 is the bare minimum to be considered a productive passer but I still would want to see higher passing efficiency if 3500 is your baseline yards
