lamar is a top 3 QB in the league currently. probably top 2. the talent in the league is different now. cam was not considered to be a “generational QB” playing during the peaks of brady, manning, rodgers, brees, etc etc lol. his relevance in the league was closer to Dak’s currently. no one ever discussed him as anything more than that except for the season he won mvp on a team that was 15-1 and made the super bowl lol. to consider maybe the 8th best QB of his era to be overrated because he wasn’t an otherworldly passer while being the best rushing QB ever is absurd.

It’s not just that he wasn’t an otherworldly passer. It’s that he got propped up as one of the QBs / offenses to be afraid of every year but more than half those years were losing seasons and in large part, his underwhelming passing was a big problem whenever he couldnt take over the game with his legs. Sure maybe he wasn’t in the Brees Manning tier but I’d argue that people did think he was high in the next tier (you referencing Dak is appropriate) when I would argue he was toward the bottom of that tier and only a couple seasons was he a top 10 QB we should be afraid of

I personally think Pittman is a great buy low at that price. He’s still top 20 in targets despite playing Stingley and Jaire. The schedule eases up here soon and he probably eats
