I think Rashee Rice made a young and dumb mistake, it was SHITTY but it’s also a sign of immaturity and ignorance that he didn’t realize he made it a lot worse and just about guaranteed jail time for himself by trying to walk away and dodge responsibility. I’m cool with him getting a second chance even if he does end up going to jail over that hit and run and other vehicle charges. He was being an idiot and endangering people but it’s believable to me he didn’t realize the potentially heavy consequences of his actions until it was too late

I think Kareem Hunt intentionally did multiple bad things and knew it was wrong to beat up women when he did it repeatedly, faced no real consequences, etc. you don’t “accidentally” hit a woman the same way you accidentally crash a car. very different things.

Like others said, sure he should be able to get a job and move on with his life but he shouldn’t be granted a celebrity platform and celebrity privileges anymore. In rare circumstances I can see someone returning to a platform of fame and wealth after ONE domestic violence incident that they took accountability and atoned for and faced some career consequences as a result, but when it’s multiple that happened without any real punishment then it’s no longer a “second chance” at all and it just becomes gross to me that celebrity keeps being enabled

I can relate to, having a dad who went through an abusive phase and changed. And sure, he did change, but that was after years of our relationship being damaged and me going no-contact several times. There’s a limit to what “second chance” means. Dad had a second chance to be in my life but only after he’d demonstrated a long term commitment to a changed demeanor and therapy etc.

However, he would never have ever gotten a second chance in that marriage with my mom after how he behaved for years, and he would never have a second chance to like, erase my memories of how insane and irate he would get and how that affected me growing up. He won’t get a second chance to be as close to me as he was when I was real young and there’s a permanent distance between us emotionally that likely isn’t going to fade away. Second chance kind of implies that your first chance is already lost and some of it can’t be salvaged no matter how sorry you are.
