That’s another thing that bothers me with QBs today. Why can’t these perceived top QB prospects be top prospects and adapt to different systems? Why should a team take a guy early, in this case #1 overall, and the burden be on the team to find the right coach with the right system? Isn’t the player responsible for learning and growing in whatever system he’s drafted to?

We shouldn’t have to wait and judge a player until every little detail around him is perfect and suited for him. The player has to prove he can play regardless. If you’re in a bad situation, at least give us some signs you have the tools and ability to play. It can’t be failure in every aspect and just say “well the system wasn’t good what do you want him to do?”

And like I said before, we should also consider why the system was what it was last year. Reich didn’t trust his QB. And he coached like it.

 

If you need a perfect system around you to be competent, you probably aren’t very good.

I can feel bad for Bryce but can also acknowledge he has not shown anything. Good qbs in a bad system show flashes and have good games here and there at least. I’m sure it sucks to have a ton of pressure on you with the number one pick and a ton of confidence because of your college career and just be kind of beaten into submission by the next level. But hey he’ll still be a multi-millionaire and be able to retire before he’s 30 so he will be just fine

If Bryce really is shocked idk what he was expecting lol you were awful for an entire season, and then came out looking just as bad in a new system with an o line that has given you fantastic protection. That’s on you at that point. Sorry dude.

And once other players are visibly frustrated on the field…you can’t risk losing the locker room this early into the season. These guys are playing for their jobs too. Can’t keep making them play with incompetence that will hurt their careers.
