I also want to say I understand the fear that women and queer folks have of Donald Trump... the way I see it, Trump / DNC is bad cop / good cop. Trump is not only a perfect opportunity for republicans to galvanize nationalist people with prejudice-related fear, but he's also a perfect opportunity for the DNC to say "you see how much worse it is when you don't cooperate with us?" to galvanize the fear of oppression, and maintain our support while they shift their platform further and further right in the process. They have a wide open opportunity to gain more lobbying money with more conservative platforms, cause bad optics aren't as bad when 70% of their voter base is using worst-case scenario Trump as a measuring stick rather than holding Dems to any real standard. And we have Stockholm Syndrome for them because they're the only party giving us breadcrumbs.

So like, while both parties aren't working together per se, they are both using Trump against us, the voters, to create a binary illusion of choice that prevents the voter base from holding the platform accountable.
