I won’t argue past this because this is not the thread for it but we actually could demand action and change things on palestine. If there was enough noise that the campaign thought it might impact the election I actually agree that Harris is maleable on pretty much every issue and would take a strong stance. Nobody wants Trump to win but I think the suffering in Gaza is so intense that it seems worth the slight risk that pushing back and demanding action is going to actually alienate voters enough for Trump to win. I haven’t seen any indication of that, and I think I can stand with protesters and demand a strong position (and continue to demand action from Joe Biden) and also plug my nose and vote on Election Day because I’m in a swing state. There is no group in the world undergoing more suffering and more at risk of death than Gazans and we are largely responsible.

AIPAC is one of Kamala's biggest SuperPAC donors. She pledged $38 billion dollars in military aid over the next decade when she addressed them in a conference. She has accepted over $5 million dollars from them this election cycle. A day after she loosely called for a ceasefire, the Biden administration finalized an $18.8B weapons deal to Israel and approved $3.5B more. She was endorsed by the Jewish Democratic Coalition of America as well for her stances on Israel.

If there's one thing that's bipartisan, it's war economy, and AIPAC has already succeeded in removing two black Congress members for being outspoken against the atrocities in Palestine. Kamala is not going to do a damn thing to change this, it's not just one issue out of many, it's a core building block of why she's in the position she's in in the first place. She's spent her whole career promoting ties with Israel as a strategy and it's genuinely too late now, especially when she's on the cusp of becoming president. It would be career suicide and a guaranteed loss in the election because of how quickly race politics would get drawn into it and how drastically she'd lose a prime source of campaign funding. I'd love to see her take a stand and martyr for the cause but everyone in her campaign is likely too afraid of Donald Trump to let that happen.

They will probably give us another round of student loan forgiveness that only cuts into interest and doesnt cut into principal and other little perks like that, and hope that between that, and bad faith reporting pinkwashing the genocide / largely skipping over the bombings, we will forget about it and get back on our hamster wheels. "distract them with much smaller victories and they will forget or become numb to the larger issues that we are not addressing" is a pretty common strategy of the DNC to keep the bigger pillars of their platform well within the status quo expected by their donors.
