Here's what I will say on the matter. Having many years of experience in this field. If you go to Apple Music and go to Spotify, and listen to USA by Petey you'll learn it's an equally great album on both platforms.

If an artist sounds bad on Spotify (I assume) it's likely a mastering problem and that artist should be using Commonwealth Mastering from my best friend so they can get better results

As someone who spent years pirating music at like 156 bit rate (barely know what this means even today)...it's super nice to have music that sounds great, but I do not give a shit 99% of the time
