"no one was talking about her" vs "no one in the thread was talking about her". These sorts of miscommunications can be sorted out. Yes, we know I have a problem communicating clearly sometimes. But fighting about it is dumb. Especially when I try to clarify and people just get more mad like that's "moving the goal posts", how is THAT not continuing the argument? Could just be like "oh, he didn't mean what it sounded like he meant, we're on the same page now" and move on.

this time I didn't, I actually realized the misunderstanding and clarified but it just made Dustin feel insulted for some reason and I really don't understand how that escalated like that.

Absolutely! Alien was one of the first horror movies I saw so I’m biased. I do like Aliens a lot too.

 

I do think this was one of those times when people jumped on a simple misunderstanding, but I also don’t think it was that serious for everyone.

I can understand why it might feel more serious for you than anyone else intends just by virtue of getting it from seven different sides at once.

As I said earlier, this should have been treated as an opportunity to educate you regarding one of gods greatest gifts
