Gonna pay $200 for a tiny ass steak with no sides, have to buy a side, tiny ass drinks …

… and then I have to stop at Taco Bell on the way home cause I’m still hungry

on the first of kelsey's birthdays we were together we went to a sip and stroll thing at the zoo. they had food booths from local places and we got some bites of steak with a cream sauce from Mickey Mantle's and LOVED it

a few years later we went there on her birthday and it sucked

 

I prefer just salt and pepper but I'll never say no to a steak with a sauce on it.

My partner sometimes calls me “sauce boy” jokingly cause if a sauce is good I always want extra on the side lol

 

She’s like “oh I made some lemon butter to dip the shrimp in too, I’ll give you some extra because you’re sauce boy”

Are there any freaks here who dip their steak in ketchup like lil pattie mahomes?

 

And they dry age the steak cause that’s a “delicacy” even though all that does is make it taste more bitter and charred lol

 

the one time I've had a dry aged steak it was incredible

literally just order the regular ribeye it’s better lol

Idk both this job and my last job dry age their steaks, I’m not a fan

 

Didn’t love my dry aged ribeye I had at that fancy steakhouse in Atlanta either

 

i definitely dont necessarily disagree that 'dry aged' can be a bit gimmicky and an excuse to add $30 to the price of the already expensive steak, but at the right place its worth every penny.

 

It doesn’t taste “bad” and I get how it adds more flavor “complexity” but idk man not every food has to have every flavor. I don’t want bitterness in my steak lol it’s not a cocktail

 

I grilled a 45 day dry aged steak and it was amazing. Expensive as shit but worth it.

 

I do not understand how the process works even after watching videos about it

 

also 'fancy steakhouse' can definitely be a misnomer. Morton's would be considered by most to be a "fancy steakhouse" but its a chain at the end of the day and has mostly mediocre food, same with places like Ruths Chris and STK.
