To be fair to you all, Baltimore is just an “okay” international food city. It does some things well and I can find at least one restaurant that’s good in almost every cuisine,

but it’s a far cry from DC where there’s so much authentic ethnic food EVERYWHERE and where any restaurant with a decent rating on google maps is going to impress you

 

A scotcheroo is a scotch i drink when ive had wayy too many scotches

ie. "i do believe ill pour myself another scotcheroo"

 

Josh just gets grumpy sometimes. He does it with me too. He’s probably tired of being told what to watch on TV lol

 

i was compensating for being extremely poor though not tall

I thinks its just some fancy sauce they put on steaks.

Peanut butter, rice krispies and chocolate. The best treat out there.

 

If your steaks need a fancy sauce then your steak ain’t that good.

A steak should be so good by itself that you don’t even want the sauce cause it would mask the flavor of the steak

I usually eat the steak straight up until it starts to cool off and then I dip the last few bites into a sauce once the deliciousness of a freshly cooked steak starts to wear off

i don’t put sauce on a steak but that doesn’t mean there aren’t great steak sauces

 

theres nothing wrong with having a side sauce to mix up the meal a bit but, i mostly agree that all a good steak needs is salt and pepper, maybe a little garlic butter while cooking.

 

Three exceptions:

1) compound butter just adds to the steak flavor, doesn’t really take away
2) chimichurri is great on flank steak, I wouldn’t put it on a really nice cut of meat but just a flatiron steak sure.
3) au jus is literally the juice from the meat so yes I obviously dip prime rib in that

 

havent been to Peter Lugers in a while. what a steak.

yeah I do this with every meal that warrants some kind of sauce. To me “mixing up a meal” with a few sauce bites is not the same as pouring a sauce all over a steak or dipping every bite into it
