I don’t know if I should try reaching out to her or not. I just feel like I shouldn’t because it’s felt like phone tag communicating with her thus far and she was the one who said “Let’s talk tomorrow” after she bailed on our plans last night.

She’s a social worker and said last night that she thought she was just dropping things off at a rehab center, but she ended up needing to do a jail visit instead and had an overwhelming experience. I have all the empathy in the world for her, I do. I can’t imagine what that line of work must be like.

But she also told me she was free last night, then did not show up in the window she suggested she would and she said “Let’s talk tomorrow,” but hasn’t yet. I just feel like it’s not my place to be the one to reach out to her since she’s the one that pulled the plug on our plans so she could process everything.

From a personal mental health standpoint, I also feel like I need to give myself space because I don’t want to be that guy that keeps pressing and pressing. That’s only going to make me feel worse so the ball’s in her court. I just feel like I’m sitting in limbo at this point and it sucks

 

i have so little experience in this realm but as someone who recently basically voiced the same issues about my situation, i held out and waited for her to contact me again. i didnt wanna keep being the one who was initiating. hope it works out and if not go jaguars.

 

Right, like I feel like I need to advocate for myself and my mental health. She’s free to do with her time whatever she needs to do for her mental health, even if it means cancelling plans with me. However, I feel like I can’t be the one the initiate a discussion about rescheduling our date. I cannot keep initiating a majority of the conversations like I have, especially after last night. It is truly draining me at this point.
