Kirk Cousins statistically is much closer to a top all time QB than I'd like to see

 

Nah Romo had some Fran Tarkenton-esque escapability. The fact that he could turn that on and off and go from being a really structured QB putting up Peyton Manning stats to scrambling around for 8 seconds and making an insane backyard football play, that was still pretty rare in the league back then. Even now there’s maybe 6 or 7 QBs who can do both.

weird quirk is that I like Indy’s draw from finishing 9-8 (third) quite a bit more than Tennessee’s for finishing 6-11

Colts get Steelers, Giants, and Broncos as their 3 record-determined teams while Titans get Bengals, Chargers, and Commies. TEN’s doesn’t even feel like much of an easier path than JAX’s second place schedule (PHI/LV/CLE)

I just think Cousins and Goff and Herbert, yes side by side they are better versions of Romo on paper but they benefit from such a different league. Romo was doing that with straight up dropback passes against defenses that are allowed to basically injure him. To me what he did to have a 14 yard run or a 15 yard pass under pressure is more impressive than when Trevor Lawrence scampers for 30 yards cause no one can take an aggressive angle without a flag.

 

There was an entire season where the center snapped the ball directly to Romo's feet on damn near every shotgun play and he still made it work and made the playoffs, I feel bad for the guy
