The cynic in me believes the NFL does these rule changes regardless of whether its practical/makes the game safer because it gets people talking and debating through periods like this up to the draft

This has been in the back of my mind ever since the report about the NFL wanting to keep the chain gang around because it "provides drama" even though technology exists to make spotting the ball a lot easier and more accurate

 

If the NFL actually cared about creating a more efficient game, they would have done so by now

Which is why whining about refs is so tired at this point

 

Surely this new absurd ban enforced by the NFL won’t lead to an increase in whining about refs!
