This is a true statement in general, but does not apply to the sopranos which is higher quality than pretty much everything

 

I will not be shamed into watching 86 hours of a tv show I don't care about

Watch like 5-6 hours and you will be made to care

 

The Sopranos are very good but it's also that kind of show that if you beg someone to watch it you make it 100% more likely they don't watch it

Randall would have never watched it if I mentioned that he should before he did, since I didn't beg him now he's in here pestering others into it

we’re saying it’s a good show and the first couple episodes will convince you to watch the rest of the 86 hours

 

ive had more than a few people tell me in the last year or so that it was difficult for them to get into the sopranos because of how dated the first season feels lol the pilot was filmed in like 1997 and the rest a year later.

Period piece meaning incredibly important for the era and probably a top 5 example of acclaimed 2000s TV that people will continue to revisit historically
