I don’t think I have enough experience with kids in general tbh. I think I’m good with them but I’ve never really participated in helping raise one, didn’t have any nearby little cousins or siblings growing up etc. most I did was babysit my friend’s son for awhile in DC before I returned to Balt

 

I respect anyone willing to give teaching a try.

My mom was a teacher and my dad a professor.

 

It may seem silly I’m not using it but I’ve never felt more free to pursue music than I do right now and that’s been my focus cause ultimately that’s my passion. Like FINALLY. Nothing in my way of recording full band music and going on more legit well planned decent paying tours than I did pre pandemic.

I am hoping I can still get certified in a few things and get a tech job or maybe get a master’s degree when I get tired of hustling the band. I mean I won’t wanna do this forever. It’s still LOADS of fun and I still have a lot of energy for local music but I definitely come home more tired and need more recovery time after shows / late night open mics than I used to lol. I don’t think
I’d be doing this shit if I had kids

 

i'm not saying you're dumb for not using it, i'm saying you'd be dumb to not use it and be a teacher instead :)

My wife taught high school English for like a year and a half then basically had a mental breakdown due to the rest of the shitty faculty and admin so she quit lol

 

That sucks. I'm not surprised. It's gotten so bad that so many are leaving the field. My mom lasted maybe 10 years? Then retired because we didn't really need her salary and she wasted so much of it buying shit for the classroom lol.
