Always fun to be minding my own business, not bothering anyone, only to have Josh jump around and remind me i have work tomorrow. Dick.

 

four day work week though am i right

 

Speak for yo damn self lol

though my days off are busy so I don’t feel like I *really* get a break this week. It’s all stuff I wanna do but I’ll be tired by Saturday

-breakfast and Orioles and then gelato on my roof with dad

-Tomorrow and laying down guitar parts in the studio with a local rapper I really like. He can freestyle better than any white rapper I’ve ever seen in local music & he has consistently flexed that skill at open mics so eventually I was just like “bro let me add some guitar to your beats” and he was stoked I asked cause he digs Terrain haha

-I also have to listen to my own recordings and make notes on them all morning beforehand, cause Tuesday I go into the studio to pick final takes for a couple more songs. Then in the evening, the local open mic has been blowing up now that it’s summer, so I’ll also need to print little flyers for our next show and get there early cause I usually get 20+ people from that open mic to come to my Baltimore shows.

 

Ok don’t do all that then!!!

 

Yes, but I do band work every Tuesday so that’s basically my fifth work day haha. Dedicating a day of the week every week to Terrain has been huge for our progress

 

Like 3.5 for me actually

 

Can’t really back out haha. Both studio days are booked & I can’t hit the open mic next week cause the band is practicing in DC next Tuesday and that’s when I’ll be hitting the big DC open mic instead

I’ll be stoked about all this on Tuesday night it’ll just be a long work week at the restaurant after that lol

 

gonna work 5 full days like an asshole

 

It is really nice that we’re starting to consistently draw a lot to shows and that we have merch now. Starting to finally feel like I can at least still make enough money back to justify not working 5 days at the restaurant because the recordings and promo expenses are starting to pay for themselves

Restaurant work is exhausting and early week shifts are slow af anyway so I don’t feel bad taking that 5th day to focus on something else.

I still work roughly 35 hours a week there plus biking back and forth to every shift (won’t be doing that when it’s 95 degrees but… that just means I have to leave even earlier to catch the early bus, cause the on time one always gets cancelled)

Lately though I’ve been making close to $1000 between Friday and Saturday alone every week (before tax but still) So as long as I keep my weekend shifts my bills are paid and the money on top of that is extra

Don’t get me wrong mine is CELEBRATING Juneteenth but not by giving people a day off or anything

 

Going on vacation on Wednesday, so only a 2 day week for me!

 

I’ll definitely get an email about the significance of it and a vague invitation to a short in-person celebration of it but to close the whole office? No way

Taking the kids to Kalahari in the Poconos. My wife is speaking at a conference out there on Thursday, so we're making a trip out of it.
