more than anything the aesthetic is its greatest crime. and yet i still watch it on nights im bored lol

 

Love ruebens, hate HGTV aesthetic, my wife has been watching selling sunset and I hate it.

 

One time in high school, my photography teacher put on a CD and eventually blackbird by the Beatles came on and someone skipped the track. He didn't say anything but the next day he came in with a CD that was entirely blackbird by the Beatles and he locked the stereo in the cabinet so no one would touch it and he listened to blackbird by the Beatles for the entire school day

 

Like I feel like food network is a fair comp and they’re SIGNIFICANTLY better at leaving room for different styles of cooking whereas every HGTV show is some variation of “flip this house by making it open concept, put in an island, neutral colors and give me one wallpapered wall”

Yes, I should clarify that I watch it and enjoy is as background tv. I’ve honestly just had the flipping thing in my head for a few weeks because of Married at First Sight
