The bar at Union Stage literally sells pizza!!! I didn’t leave the venue and go somewhere else to get it lol

 

What a show though right? God DAMN is the front person of Gang of Youths a good ass singer

for those just reading, Matt had gotten me into them a few months prior. They’re an Australian band that never tours here. We were out for Matt’s wife’s birthday and he saw they were playing in another part of DC - but Ana and Matt are not impulsive people and they will not go do something spontaneous on their own, so I convinced them it’s not that far away and it’d be worth it.

Damn glad I did lol. The show was SOLD OUT when we got there BUT some large group had a few friends that couldn’t make it and left extra tickets at the box office, so we got in fuckin free too

they still regretted the walk back to the metro though lol. And I’m over here like “shit imagine not having a car like me and not having a fucking choice” lol

Oh wait that was the Foxing show? I probably got pizza at both shows tbh lol. Union Stage’s pizza is great snack pizza. It’s on a small flatbread but the ingredients rule

 

The location and the pizza single-handedly make Union Stage cool. It’s not great otherwise just a single-level room with a small stage that is hard to see when the venue is jam packed. It’s shocking that room fits 500 people cause it feels much more like a 200 person venue. But it’s in a really great part of DC for a night out so I still like going.

The Anthem is the much bigger venue in that area and THAT venue rules, extremely good sound quality for a 3,000 cap venue, most of those sound like shit.
