I don’t even make 1% effort to play devil’s advocate and humor a republican’s viewpoint and have a “fair discussion” anymore. Nothing about supporting Donald Trump is a good faith argument. You have to blatantly deny things he’s been proven to do and proven to lie about to keep up the charade. People who do all those fuckin backflips just to justify their hatred for non white people, non cis people, independent women etc do not deserve my “good faith”

On one hand, they have come a long, long way since their late '90s, early '00s models. They have a varied fleet of options and the price points/warranties are awesome.

On the other hand, in my non-work life, I've had three family members buy '20 or newer Kias and trade out of them already after being tired of non-stop dealer repairs and recalls. In my work life, the newer ones are frequently here for issues that can only be resolved by the dealer as most of their tech is proprietary and poorly designed requiring specialty tools/software/redesigns back from factory.

This isn't the most glaring proof, but in the last six months here are the 2023 repair totals based on Make for my place of work. 2024 had too few to really mean anything.

The good news about Kia, vs your Ford, is that Kia will actually fix your car and will cover most of your problems. It's just the inconvenience of it. Ford will issue a recall every week and then never prepare their production to cover those recalls.

 

I also remember when they started selling the Stinger that their dealerships didn't really reflect a more upscale brand which is what scared people away

same reason Hyundai made their Genesis sub brand - people think of Hyundais as cheap
