On talent alone Kuechly is my #6 but his career got cut short

Eli is probably the most likely to get in of the guys I didn’t list but idk, I can’t help that a QB who was mostly very mediocre in his career doesn’t rank high on my list lol

Wayne and Holt were productive enough to easily get in the hall of fame, I personally think they’re a tier behind “best WRs of all time” talent wise (definitely below Steve Smith) and that too many WRs are gonna get in the HOF, but you can’t ignore that they compiled serious numbers with good QBs

Same with Suggs and Allen, outstanding sack numbers will get them in but idk if they’re talented enough to DEFINITELY be Hall of Fame

my hot take is that Taylor is closer to Suggs / Allen / Wayne / Holt than anyone thinks he is talent wise, but he’ll have to wait longer because from a HOF perspective the numbers don’t necessarily back that up. If you do enough digging though, Fred was clearly one of the best big play RBs of all time, as in, of all the best RBs he’s in the top 10 in terms of how much he threatened to take runs all the way down the field. And to me that’s got to count for something because 50+ yard runs are rare / extremely difficult to pull off in a game, and Fred had a LOT of them where he juked out 3-4 guys and then burned the SHIT out of the safeties.

Fred’s skillset was very rare it’s regrettable we didn’t run the ball more / throw to him more and get him the 100ish TDs he needed to get the respect he deserves. Splitting with MJD late in his career, not being the focus of the offense early on cause our passing attack with Smith & McCardell was too good to be a “running team”, and two year-long injuries + our team taking a horrible nose dive right in the middle of the time period where he WAS the unquestioned “focal point” of our offense (2000-2005) is why he doesn’t have top 10 rushing yards and triple digit TDs. It was all so situational and had nothing to do with him not having the ability

I wasn’t alive for Willie Anderson and didn’t pay attention to offensive line much when Jahri Evans was playing so those are def blind spots for me.

    The rivalry is back on

I will say it is a good sign for Fred Taylor’s candidacy that he is a finalist and Marshawn isn’t. Seems like there’s decent momentum for him to get in, and if he doesn’t, it’ll be interesting to see how he stacks up against Gore next class but it’s looking like he’s the next RB in if it happens before Peterson is eligible in a couple years

if anything supports Taylor’s HOF claim, it’s how other elite players of the era talked about him. Pretty sure Ray Lewis has repeatedly said he was easily one of the toughest playmakers he ever faced.

Kinda like Boselli’s way in haha. John Hannah, Anthony Munoz, a lot of OL already in the hall pounded the table for him and said if anyone deserved the HOF on talent alone it’s him.

& honestly when I watch old Jags games it’s eye popping watching Boselli now that I understand (on a very basic level) what makes an O-Lineman good. His pass blocking footwork was bonkers good, 330 pound mf had better feet than Emmitt Smith LMAO. Even against the most elite pass rushers he faced it was like he was psychic and could predict their next move and then he would moonwalk there right as they were shifting their momentum. Was practically impossible to get an angle on him that makes him lose leverage, and even when you did, he was strong as fuck and could recover with a Hulk-like upper body maneuver anyway.
