Us snagging #2 would be a dream come true. Take a QB desperate team for a ride.

The Vikings just have to suck it up and trade JJ McCarthy right? You can't possibly justify letting Darnold go after this season he's had

Keeping JJ/tagging & trading Darnold seems most likely

but still the playoffs to go, Darnold may implode

best team building asset is still a good qb on a rookie contract

Trading JJ and signing Darnold long term would be such a funny thing to do

I think it’s kinda madden-brain to even consider it

Unless Darnold takes them on a deep playoff run, I feel like they would prefer to let Darnold walk and have a rookie QB contract. And according to everything, they love McCarthy.

But if Darnold takes them DEEP they’d have to consider franchising him

I cannot see them trading McCarthy lol

Yep, at worst tag him to trade him.

Would be him Joe Flacco'ing them, having his one good season in his get paid year and it f's the team for like 5 years or more.

That said, Green bay has shown time and again you can sit a rookie for 2-3 years, have that dude pan out after your starter implodes personally and leaves, and be fine

Probably Raiders unless NE wants Hunter. And if the Pats wants him then Jags should trade down

I saw he’s probably going to enter the draft as CB so idk if that makes a difference for you guys.

I think Hunter would be fun, but I don’t know, I just really want to utilize that pick on an offensive weapon or the line.

I hope we secure 2 and can really rip off a Raiders, Titans, etc. and still get a lineman/decent WR. Hunter doesn’t feel like he will be a game changing WR from the start

I also feel like Darnold would wanna get paid by whichever team can’t get Sanders/Ward. Let him do that and let the Vikings roll with McCarthy on a rookie deal. (I also just think McCarthy will be good so I’m biased)

On my way to better things Moderator

Keep Darnold if he brings you to the big game

if he gets smacked in a playoff game roll with JJ

yes I could be a GM too

Yeah Pats desperately need a WR1 which Hunter isn't gonna be

Yeah that’s definitely fair, trading back is probably the way to go. If he’s going to primarily be CB I think the Jags need him. BTJ is their guy at WR obviously. But still think Hunter would be a good situational threat as well.

But it wouldn’t be a bad idea to convince Darnold to stick around for another year since McCarthy really hasn’t been able to practice at all this season. I’d imagine he’s doing some throwing now but that’s not game experience.

I just don't see how or why you'd trust JJ over Darnold. He is going to finish top five in MVP voting. How can you just let that walk or even trade him? Seems crazy to me

Think it’s a similar situation as Shanahan being a QB whisperer
