Yeah we’ll probably do part of the drive the night of the show and stay in Tennessee overnight or something to split it up. It’s at a record shop so it won’t go late.

 

I did just take a train down to Jacksonville to play ONE show and see a couple friends for one day and come back lol

and I also did drive all the way to Cincinnati from here with my band for one show the first time we played at The Comet

so it’s not like we didn’t prepare for this lol. Tour will be easier than THAT.

I don’t mind long drives I’ve done them my whole life. Sightseeing with music aint a bad way to spend your time. Some stretches of highways are boring and that’s when I get more into my music.

Part I’m concerned about is crossing Pennsylvania mountains in January. Lol.

Only 40 people scheduled coming into the restaurant tonight and it’s cold and raining so probably even fewer due to cancellations. There are four servers scheduled. This is when my industry can be tantalizing to take the day off and take that nap you need and grocery shop and cook that home cooked meal you need. But NO. Even if it’s only $115 I need tour money and I will stand around for 7 hours and give up on cooking a real dinner for it lol. Hopefully two other servers want the night off and it can be more like $200-$250.

 

I also cancelled my trip home to New Orleans for Xmas and I’m gonna go in late January instead. My mom said it’s no hard feelings if I need that holiday pay and I do. Extra hourly plus extra generous tips is just too good right now and Xmas doesn’t even fall on a weekend so the weekend will be busy too. We’re closed Christmas Day but Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve is still the highest grossing week of the year

 

How I’m paying rent in February feels… a little sketchy right now lol, I’m thinking no recording sessions in January and I’ll just take a 1 month break from that
