Pearl Jam is a big blind spot for me so I'm listening to Vitalogy when I do MWE stuff

I use it to listen to stuff I missed and rant about it to Laura but it's really funny to see it called a music writing exercise and see music writers say stuff like "I really like this!!! The guitars are loud" like yeah flex those literary muscles

 

i will reflect on this and do better in 2026

Neither have most music writers you are in good company

There are people good at it but like there are a LOT more people bad at it

I like reading @phaynes12 write about music because he's just writing in his voice but also not going out of his way to be like "yeah I'm a ~writer~ guys"

 

I wish Randall and I liked the same music. Because it would be interesting to have someone drill down to the cellular level every song I like. But alas.
