Hello everybody

my two singles are finally starting to feel “done”. Just got done my favorite part which is adding background details.

the lead / background guitars I wrote for “Get In Line” sound sick, Daikaiju style “surf-hardcore” inspired in the louder parts of the verses, more of a Chris Walla of DCFC vibe in the quieter parts of the verse and the choruses, and then in the outro I do some filthy Jonny Greenwood style dissonant bends in the end kind of like you hear in the “My Iron Lung” or “Paranoid Android” guitar solos. It’s melodic and layered at times and dirty and aggressive at times. Can’t wait.

Like the chords come in and it sounds like a driving punk/alt rock song with some scratching on the guitars between the chords

and then you hear another guitar just LNLNLNLNLNLNLN (the sound of me very rapidly strumming one string) with tons of distortion and reverb and delay over the top, in a Phyrigian major scale (the exotic Egyptian / old Latin sounding one) and you’re like “oh shit this is like surfy post-hardcore”

and then you hear the vocals kick in and it’s back to a punk song - but then the chorus is like soft and smooth indie-rock and has a bouncy vocal rhythm and guitar harmonies echoing out. Then the verse comes back for a second but after one line of that loud surf rock lead coming in, then the vocals come in with a different version of the verse chords, with this catchy wicka-JANK wicka-JANK wicka-JANK post-punk guitar riff and a harder hitting drum beat.

then we settle back down into the chorus with a “chill part” that has a “dark” warbly guitar with tremolo, in the background behind a laid back guitar & bass groove that reminds you of the verse but without distortion (the lead between the chords is like, wearing sunglasses inside sorta vibe lol, it just sounds “casually cool” lol)

then that chorus is has more emotion and a little more guitar harmony than the first chorus, and then the end is like an anthem where it gets more mid-tempo but also heavier with power chords, and I sing an anthemic vocal line with a bit of a gang vocals / emotional sounding octave harmonies vibe.

And all of that is in a catchy four minute song with one stanza of lyrics per verse lol.

 

This is kinda fun

 

I'm hyped now. When can I hear it?
