like idk how you could have watched last week's Georgia ole miss game or the penn state osu game the week before that and think oh yes the Jacksonville jaguars are worth my football watching allotment this week

Couldn’t possibly tell you what conference BC or UConn play in lol.

I’m all for people enjoying college football. I just personally don’t care too much about it until it becomes draft season. Happy for those who do enjoy it though.

BC is in the ACC and actually kinda better than usual this year bc BOB is coaching them lol. uconn is an independent and not in a conference and was a meme for being the worst team in college football for many years running. cannot recommend watching them.

people in oklahoma definitely care more about ou/osu than they do the cowboys or chiefs or whoever

I will say, I don’t really care one way or another about college football, but you could not convince me to give Penn State even a second more of my time. Fuck that school, that team and their lunatic fanbase still crying about Joe Paterno

Couldn’t care less about college football unless I wanted to fool myself into believing someone good in college will be good in the pros

I guess I see the appeal. Kudos to people who enjoy it. I just don’t care about it until draft season when I’m willing to suspend reality for a few months before I come crashing back down to earth during the nfl season

there's so much more like...weird stuff in college football

like yeah the majority of those guys will never sniff the nfl but they're still out there

    it's kinda beautiful

im not trying to rail in here about how college is better than the pros. i used to think that way but I have come around to thinking they're both great for what they offer. just don't get the argument at all that college isn't a good product. it's often offering more entertaining, high-octane games than what the NFL slate offers any given week, mostly because the teams are almost all operating under the gunslinger mindset.

Starting my career running a campaign for Penn State Board of Trustees the same year the Freeh Report came out maybe left a mark lol

penn state sucks as a program, yes, no one is disagreeing there.

there are terrible programs in the NFL that people (not saying anyone here) have no problem watching either but yes it's about as bad as a black eye on the sport as you can have.

I also do not enjoy college football. I think a lot of that has to do with rooting more for certain players now in the nfl and I feel like that’s harder in college when there’s 1000 different teams. I also never watched it growing up because I don’t care about penn state or Pitt and no one cared about football at good old IUP.

I think part of why I have a easier time with pros vs college is, I at least feel like the Kansas City Chiefs and the Jacksonville Jaguars are competing for the same thing so I can benchmark who is closer and who is further and it’s all relative. Whereas the difference between an Alabama and a Boston College is so otherworldly it’s basically like “this just isn’t even the same sport” and becomes a bit less interesting.

Then there’s the front office aspect where I just have a better grasp of how teams like the Pats or the Jags can work to become the Chiefs whereas I KNOW Boston College just isn’t gonna ever be an Alabama so there’s less to sink my teeth into there without just picking a front runner.

also, with a few exceptions, rivalries seem all but dead in professional sports whereas they are the lifeblood of college sports, both for football and hoops. it's fun to want your enemy to drink piss in a way that doesn't really matter when it's at the next level for the most part.

College also being ranked by voting or whatever is so lame

the college football environment is bar none the best in sports, especially when huge upsets happen

If I were told I could only have one I'd still pick the NFL but CFB is alot of fun and I'm glad it's even easier to jump around to different games via youtube tv, etc

It also adds a fun factor once the NFL draft happens

This I will grant is a MASSIVE pro for college sports vs. the pros.

I think comparing anyone to what Alabama has done the last 15 years is unfair. No one is going to be Alabama.

boston college is a bad example but with the transfer portal changes and the 12 team playoff expansion, this is changing actively as we speak and this is kind of the year 0 example of it happening. Indiana is in the top 4 and has a chance of making the playoff. they haven't had a season this successful in literally a century. and they aren't the only example of that this year. parity gets thrown around a lot but the addition of more teams into the bracket has made it so that people don't have to transfer to one of three schools to have a shot anymore.
