Update: it sounds like Trevor Lawrence actually needs surgery on his non-throwing shoulder but they are deciding when to do it. If he needs it then just do it now. This season is done.

 

I mean, maybe I’m just down bad as a Patriots fan, but they’ve gotten useful value out of Pickens, Johnson, Juju, Clayfool and the jury is still out on Wilson and Austin. That’s not terrible considering none of those were like, premier prospects

I’m not gonna count Claypool as a hit considering he lasted about two and a half years there. As for Austin, I’m gonna guess that the jury had ruled on him. Dude is in his third year with the team when the second biggest story for the Steelers has been their desire to improve their WR room. They drafted Wilson and tried trading for several veterans before landing Williams so they could keep Austin as the WR4 at best

Diontae was good and they got solid play out of Pickens and JuJu. I’m not saying they’ve had a ton of misses and are terrible at drafting WRs, but they’ve certainly had their fair share of whiffs or guys who were not/are not needle-movers. I just think they aren’t all that different from other teams. They throw a bunch of darts at the position, have gotten some decent players, but haven’t really landed many good ones for a while now.

 

enough of them hit as rookie contract studs, that the narrative worked well. But it really is a numbers game. The Steelers will draft a WR every year, letting someone walk in the process. Then backfilling with some older WR on their way out of the league: Jericho Cotchery, Allen Robinson, Donte Monfrief, Van Jefferson, etc.

Recently they’re like one or two hits less than usual which put them in this spot.

 

The Steelers did not draft any WRs in 2023 or 2021 so I would not say they draft a WR every year and I’d argue that the only “stud” they hit on lately was Diontae Johnson, whom they traded away

 

I don’t pee in the shower cause the drain is slightly clogged and takes a while to drain so I’d hate to be just standing in my pee

 

Maybe you should unclog your drain.
