That’s fair, but Saquon was a big part of the Eagles success this year. I get it though.

Allen did fine this year, more referencing his previous efforts in the playoffs. Just think he is over rated overall. He’s great in the regular season but not MVP worthy over Lamar.

Just feel like this is the first year I’ve seen the “he was more important to his team’s success” discourse, and I can’t help but feel that it’s disingenuous, and was used to snub Lamar who had the far better season. Also feels like there is a strong racial undercurrent behind it, as I’ve only seen white dudes making that moronic argument. Growing up the MVP was either the best player, or at the very least the best player at their position in the league.

This just felt like a consolation prize for Josh and the Bills failing again. I hate Brady too but at least you could justify all of his MVPs

Regardless, he still did not have a better regular season than Lamar. Really don’t know how anybody can justify it based off of that. That is crazy.

Lamar should have won the MVP but Allen is not overrated. Easily a top 5 QB in the league. Lamar also can’t get it done in the playoffs.

It’s not stated out loud but there is a reason black QBs simply don’t get the same credit for doing unprecedented shit. People talked shit about him not being a quarterback. Then they talked shit about him having a bad year even though every young QB does. Then they talk shit about him negotiating his own contract even though he was right and he won. Then they talk shit about how Derrick Henry is why he was so good this year etc etc never is he talked about in a way that honors how brilliant he is at reading defenses the majority of the time, it’s always about his QB talent being buoyed by his athleticism and a good team around him. I don’t see how he gets a fourth place vote without all of that factoring in
