Head Somm at my job just plopped the two Sancerre’ wines we tried yesterday in front of me 10 minutes before pre-shift meeting and said “read about the vineyards you’re gonna be presenting these wines to the rest of the team”

naturally I nailed it and got a “fantastic job” from our F&B manager who is usually very reserved about positive feedback outside of one on one meetings

 

Present them here

 

Honestly impressed with myself lol I worked in how they irrigate and age the wine, how old the vineyards are and what kind of soils they grow in, how the same region and same year have similar characteristics but where and why they differ, how they’re good examples of the nose and palette being totally different as one smells more tart / herbal and the other smells more fruity / floral but the taste is the inverse of that, what they pair well with and what kind of guest to pitch them to based on price point and style

 

Leaving the bathroom and can no longer be casually seen on my phone in the kitchen as I’m supposed to be setting an example now

 

This doesn't seem like an ideal presentation but I'm glad the manager liked it
