also i get all the stuff dustin has been saying. been struggling with that for a while. we keep talking about how it'll be different when we move to huntersville/stuff will come up as holly gets older and we meet more families our age through school but my friend circle in charlotte is so small that I don't often ask my actual friends to do something because it makes me feel like I come off as desperate since I'm just hitting the same people up over and over

 

kelsey and I started dating right as one of my best friends was having his first kid and the other was moving to Pennsylvania with his wife, kelsey was finishing up college and so it was like we fell into an not-social groove immediately

 

trying to be more social sounds miserable

 

i enjoy being social!

 

I was trying to explain to my therapist that I don't want to interact with other people most of the time even when we're say, at a concert

like obviously we already have something in common, but I still don't want to talk to them about that thing lol

 

I always think I'm completely anti-social until I ACTUALLY don't socialize for a while and then I die inside a bit

 

Yeah most of my friends have kids now except my best friend Jon who I usually see once a week. Everyone else it’s hit and miss when we hang out and it sucks. We usually end up hanging out with Nadia’s sister (fuck off murph) and BIL the most.

That’s where working from home sucks cause sometimes during the week the only person I interact with in real life is Nadia.

 

The less I socialize, the less I miss socializing. People are exhausting and at least half of them suck.

 

I think a lot about how often I spent time with people when I drank and how quickly that vanished once I quit and it sucks

kelsey brought that up last night too, how much of it can revolve around alcohol

 

I like socializing with my friends but not random strangers. Don’t need the guy at the bar I don’t know talking to me. Let me just talk to my friends I don’t get to see as much as I’d like.

 

I'm not anti-social, like i don't have a problem making small talk with strangers or my coworkers, but I'm not looking to make new friends every time I walk into a room

 

I'm desperate to make new friends. Please spend time with me. Play games with me. I'm dying
