My childhood best friend called me today and told me his dad is dying. It's extremely sudden but it's going to be very soon. I'm pretty shaken up about it, I spent nearly every day at his house for like 6-8 years straight and his family was absolutely my family. I'm not sure how to be a good friend through that experience, which is silly considering we just went through my own dad dying and I know how kind and helpful other people were to me through that and I know that's what I can do. It just sucks that nothing could possibly be enough. I bought him a PS5 and some games to bring over this weekend so he can have a bit of an escape and we can vent to each other while we play stuff throughout the foreseeable forever, probably even as much for me as for him. Fuck cancer etc

 

But 2k says this is illegal

 

a friend of mines mother is likely going to pass from cancer in a day or two on hospice care now, and im sort of mentally preparing for how to be a good friend through it however i can, so the timing of this post is something.
