Boiled peanuts are good if they’re made right. Can’t be shy about that Cajun broth. I could understand it being TOO MUCH seasoning and being too salty for some people overall, but @preppyak saying they’re kinda bland tells me he hasn’t had them right

Rain Dogs in Jacksonville did a good boiled peanuts, they didn’t have meals or big appetizers but their bar snacks were legit. Pretty sure the guy who cooked for all their bars was from Biloxi.

 

It’s like, you *can* boil crawfish in lightly salted water with a little old bay and a little lemon if you want it to just taste steamed… but that’s not a crawfish boil. A crawfish boil must have way too much seasoning to feel like it’s any sense of moderation, and like a whole bag of lemons lol

 

And yes I will speak with an air of objectivity about a Cajun south thing that other places don’t do justice. Sorry Pat lol

So tempting lol but I know I’m not cut out for that winter and those steep ass narrow ass MOUNTAIN roads paved with brick. I was so proud of how I *handled* myself but at the end of the day I still fucked up my car tire and got lucky with a warm + dry 30 degree day for Pittsburgh winter. Humbling.
