Yeah they’ve honestly improved so much since then. They have a new lead guitarist who is a PRO and doesn’t even come from the pop-punk scene that adds a totally different element live. When I saw them in 2020 they had the anxious rush of a band that wasn’t used to stages that big, but by 2022 when I saw them with Origami Angel their patience and crowd interaction was so much better, and Christine was able to sing calmly and controlled WHILE doing that guitar shit in a way I only wish I could. I haven’t seen a crowd go nuts for an opening band like that at very many shows

 

yeah the album from a couple years ago is way better than what I saw them play

 

I didnt see any US tours coming up, just the Europe one with Movements?

 

@GrantCloud Gully Boys are coming to town in March. Excited to finally see them live.

 

they just announced like 8 northeast US dates and 5 Midwest / Canada dates in April but they’re not coming near you unfortunately. Closest is Madison WI

He’s not new anymore haha but they didn’t have him in 2020 on the TWY/SLS tour

 

oh. he’s been with them for years lol. he’s also been a part of that scene for like a decade now

Word. I guess he’s “new” to me because I remember reaching out to Pool Kids about shows back when it was just like, 19-20 year old Christine and Caden and they were a small band in Tallahassee haha.

them blowing up eventually is a thing that inspires and motivates me. They were always talented andclearly a cut above the instrumentation of other bands in their ilk

the bassist is dating an internet friend of mine and seems super nice too

 

they also shouted out the band of two of my best friends that broke up like a decade ago in am interview last year as inspiring them to start the band and stuff which is insane

Ah so even before me then gotcha. I moved to Jax in 2015 and played with bands that played with Pool Kids at the time (winded, Camp Green Lake, Summer Cicada, States Avenue, Glazed, Teen Divorce) in Tallahassee and Jacksonville, but by chance I never played with them specifically. We had emailed each other about a couple that didn’t pan out.
