Did the recruiter interview for the role and I'm not sure I feel all that optimistic about getting to move forward. She expressed that the role is consumer focused (McAfee) vs my normal B2B coverage when writing about cybersecurity and she wasn't sure how the hiring manager would feel about that.

I tried to stress that my experience is transferable. Not rocket science to change up the audience you're writing to. But I dunno. People are fucking dumb.

Pay would be beyond anything I'd ever expect tho tbh, so would love to have it move forward haha. Their salary range was very wide and even the bottom is above what I'm hoping I'll get at the moment and she was like "yeah we're actually targeting X for the pay" and it was much much higher than I could have hoped. Which means my rejection email is forthcoming.

 

I went to college with a girl who "studied abroad" in Hawaii and earnestly continued to tell us it was abroad. The rest of our friend group, instead of my broke ass, spent that summer studying in Italy or Spain and she didn't get why they were looking at her so confused.
