Gangs of New York - Miscast and the worst part of a kind of whatever movie
Aviator - Miscast and it ruins what should have been a great movie
The Departed - obviously perfect
Shutter Island - miscast until the ending and then it comes around, movie is still just fine
Wolf of Wall Street - perfect
KOTFM - I think he is miscast in this but is still good and the movie is great

 

no I disagree emphatically

 

more than half of his performances - that I have seen at least - are A+++ to A performances. he is, at worst, a top 5 actor of his generation. idk how you can view that as overrated lol.

there is one actor who i could kind of accept that was roughly the same age but he died a decade ago

he is who i meant. i agree for him. there isn’t another actor their age or close that is better than DDL besides PSH and that dude has been gone for a decade now

to DDL credit he’s very picky so obviously less chances for duds, like I think Tom Hanks is one of the bests but then he does shit like that Elvis movie and it’s like cmon man.
