This was probably a joke but just in case, trump’s repeal of that EO does nothing because that EO was codified into law by congress a few years later. So it’s literally a law now and not just an EO, the EO goes away but the law which is stronger makes it still very much illegal to discriminate in federal hiring.

I read up on this and I fully support Belichick, they were screwing him out of a real HC opportunity in NYJ just to get back at Kraft. Parcells was a control freak and still would’ve had full control as team president, and it would’ve been the first year under Woody Johnson who we all clearly know at this point is a moron, and Belichick probably knew it then. So Belichick likely wouldn’t have had much control over the direction the Jets went. Kraft also knew very well from Belichick’s time in NE that he was a football genius and a HC in the making so I 100% think he tampered to get him, but it was super shitty of the Jets to force Belichick to get locked into a Jets’ contract because of a clause about Parcells’ retirement. He abruptly retired just to keep him in their clutches, likely knowing he had a better deal with much more strategic freedom in NE, and Belichick likely felt very betrayed that his mentor would block him from his own chance to build a football team in his image

 

bill has a chance to one up himself and do the scummiest coaching thing ever if he bails on UNC the day after the buyout dips down

 

Yeah Parcells' behavior that whole time period was pretty fucking shitty. He was more focused on his next job than getting the Patriots ready for a Super Bowl. Great coach, should be in the Patriots hall of fame, but kind of a scumbag.
