It does! I enjoy the Aaron West stuff. I think I just struggle with like...a constant stream of similar tempo, similar sounding sad songs. Every now and then I'm like "I just gotta hit up Born to Run real quick" lol

I felt similarly about Aaron West when I tried to get into it UNTIL I went to the show with Josh and that made me kinda recognize what was going on in each song better and become more attached to it and now yes I am a fan

 

On the first album yeah. His dad dies, his wife has a miscarriage, his wife leaves him, he leaves New York and goes to Georgia

The actual divorce is on album 2 (Just Sign The Papers)

 

It’s a neat narrative project

 

That's the part I do respect the most. Just the idea of him doing it as a creative challenge to do the opposite of what has made him successful.
