basically i loved nomar (one of my first favorite athletes) and then pedroia came in and who didn’t like him (delete this if he’s a maga weirdo or something) and then mookie was beloved. we always had a middle infielder (the position i played) who ruled and they ruined that

it’s honestly been tough for me to get into the sport since that era. i like the brewers but their ownership makes the same penny counting dipshit decisions the red sox did. it’s only a matter of time before chourio leaves because they don’t pay him.

Nah he was not happy about the A-Rod flirtation the Sox had heading into '04, which like, fair, and he had a really bad attitude through most of '04. The last straw was a game in Yankee stadium where he's sitting on the dugout, the rest of the team is on the front step or playing, meanwhile Jeter is diving face first into foul territory for a foul ball. Just a rough look for what was already a rough season.

 

He's come back a handful of times and seems like all fences are mended, but yeah, there was beef. Sox thought he was faking his injuries or exaggerating them for a new contract, he thought they wouldn't give him a new contract because they didn't want to commit to him and drama.
