Don’t fly aer lingus to Dublin. I was on their flight over the weekend to end up in Paris and we were over the North Atlantic past Nova Scotia when the plane lost access to a fuel tank. They diverted us to Boston. This was after a hour long “maintenance delay.” They just seemed super budget and not reliable.

 

Florence >>> Rome is a hill I will always die on. France, Paris was better than Rome but I still had a similar experience where the less travelled cities were more fun (Nice, Lyon). Pisa fucking sucks and is stupid and is a waste of a trip just to take the same dumb touristy picture everyone takes of holding the building up. Really I had that experience a lot - the Mona Lisa was the worst part of the Louvre cause there’s a constant gaggle of people fighting to take a picture of it (and ruining the painting in the process).

I also found going to a Tudor castle in England especially boring the English had no taste compared to other historic societies. I’d love to go on a regular trip to London to get tipsy in pubs and see live music and art rather than doing touristy stuff, I’d have more fun there if I treated it like New York

Belgium is seriously underrated, it may not be as historically famous but as a modern place to visit where people live forward thinking lives… Belgium is a great model for the direction I WISH America would go

didn’t get to see Maastricht, we stayed in Volendam Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Hotel Spaander in Volendam had an amazing heated indoor pool with waterfalls and shit

Ireland is top o' my list to visit.

 

God damn Anora was absolutely tremendous and maybe my favorite of the (few) probable Oscar movies I’ve seen so far.

So much tougher about the cold now than I was before my Midwest tour lol

below 25 used to be “not going outside” weather but now 15 doesn’t even faze me that bad

Amsterdam really isn’t that amazing. It’s the same as Dave saying Dublin didn’t impress him that much cause it was a lot like Boston

 

Matter of fact the first thing I said when I came to Fells Point for the first time was “this reminds me a lot of the Netherlands”

 

Remembering the time someone told me the two best cities in the world are Barcelona and Dallas

Cobblestone streets, an old port / maritime feel, and pastel colored brick row homes, legal weed, strong music and art culture, strong drug and vice subculture are features of a lot of the northeast. Cuisine is better and a lot more diverse here, Amsterdam mostly copies other countries’ food cause there isn’t all that much famous about Dutch cuisine. What are you suggesting is so special or different about Amsterdam. It’s not even really a bigger city than Baltimore. If anything I’d say their commitment to riding bikes is better but that’s about it
