Pokemon Go does plenty of data farming, but it's in no way associated with China. The game is actually banned in China and can't be played because the Chinese government can't control it.
That said, fuck social media and algorithms.

 

My bad, I thought Niantic had ties to China but I think I confused it with Tencent, the company that made Pokemon Unite. But still same logic applies, the US government doesn’t actually care about the data collecting aspect
