the quarterbacks mostly sucked, the RBs all started off as backups, and his only real competition is a TE who was also on a shitty ass team and didn’t produce nearly as many touchdowns.

McConkey was very good as well but BTJ was doing with Mac fuckin Jones what Ladd was doing with Justin Herbert

 

BTJ is a pro bowler and absolutely should not win OROY.

Brian was fourth in receiving yards and fifth in receiving touchdowns as a rookie, he has a better argument than anyone except Daniels

 

Bucky did 1400 / 8 AS a back up.

 

Bowers is a tight end that got CB1s covering him and still had one of the best rookie tight end seasons ever. BTJ scored more but Bowers caught more and dropped less

I don’t think he counts as a backup man lol he heavily outproduced the incumbent

he was also in a much stronger offense than BTJ and didn’t have issues with being under utilized much of the year like BTJ did

 

BTJ probably doesn’t get a lot of “with a backup QB” credit either considering the drop off from Lawrence to Mac is pretty minimal these days

 

Scoring 5 more TDs kinda weighs heavier in my book
