tbh I don't even consider abilities much, it's just brute force and type advantages baby

 

Abilities usually complement brute force for certain Pokemon so it's good to consider but yeah they didn't exist for the first bunches of games so then it didn't matter

 

i dont wanna have to think too hard when playing a pokeyman game

 

I just have all sandshrews. The coolest pokimons.

I used Slowbro for my Soul Silver playthrough and, while it has been fun using him, his obvious lack of speed has been annoying at times

Would rather use Starmie, but Staryu isn’t always the most easily available Pokémon in some of the games after gen 1 from what I understand

 

guys fuckin YOLKED out of his mind

 

Marowak is armed though I want the Pokemon that comes with a weapon

 

Starmie is my favorite Pokémon and all, and I know I could still catch a Staryu late in some of the games, but the hassle of catching it late in the game, acquiring a water stone (which is absurd in HG/SS), and then grinding it up at that point in the game is just too annoying of a way to spend my time that I just chose to use Slowbro instead
