Honestly I’m not actually that hard to please. I am opinionated and meticulous and can find fault in anything but I genuinely enjoy things about every city we play on tour.

I obviously cannot wait to come back to Chicago but I feel that way about Cleveland and Pittsburgh too, I knew they were “cool” but it’s a different vibe to experience it. And each very distinct and different from each other and from what I’m used to in Baltimore even though they’re all about equal sized cities. Baltimore - Pittsburgh - Cleveland - Detroit - Chicago seems like a route we’ll take more than once in the future. And we already did it in the winter so I ain’t scared of shit no mo’.

Also I confirmed my take that Ohio is a middle tier state that gets way more hate than it deserves. I enjoy Cleveland a lot and also get the appeal of living in Akron but going to Cleveland, I enjoy Cincinnati, I enjoy Yellow Springs,

driving through the southeastern portion of it sucks but that’s a lot of US states, the people can be a little trashy but that’s a lot of US states lol,

and generally the nature is good, would love to see more of the Cuyahoga Valley and I really liked the drive along Lake Erie from Detroit / through Toledo, once you got past all of Toledo’s ugly industry and factories there were some SUPER cute farm towns that felt suburban and not quite “middle of nowhere” in between like Port Clinton and Sandusky. (We avoided tolls and took a rural highway)

not a top state for attractions or a top place to grow up and pursue your dreams or a top place to work or whatever, but a very nice place to live a normal comfortable life and have access to some urban entertainment

 

PA is very hit or miss for me. I absolutely love its cities and their suburbs but the middle of the state isn’t my vibe as far as rural areas go. Pretty to drive through though and maybe I’d like Lancaster, haven’t been there yet.

 

Man you just described the majority of states

 

For a small state Ohio has a lot though including 3 very distinct major cities to choose from and never being more than like 2 hours from one of them

there’s a lot of states that have that in one city’s area and the rest of the state is p dead

 

It’s the 7th most populous state and middle of the pack in area

 

Pretty countryside that feels charming and not too dilapidated or hick-ish or ignorant + at least B-grade nature + either at least one excellent city (Seattle / Portland / Minneapolis count for this) or multiple pretty cool cities = good state in my book

 

Which describes half of Florida and Georgia but the other half…. YEESH
