as much as I like hating on NE, they’re both unemployed, so logically it makes sense that they’d be more available to interview earliest in the process versus any of the coordinators in the playoffs (or even not in, but doing the exit interview process) rn

While this is true, I do believe we see examples every year that highlight that while well intentioned, the Rooney Rule needs tweaks. I think it's kinda insulting to demand teams waste peoples time and insult their intelligence to fit a quota, and even if it wasn't, it's not working as we're still seeing an overwhelming number of jobs going to white candidates.

 

Fwiw a few of the HC interviews are always used as excuses to interview possible coordinators.

 

Would have loved a modern day offensive minded HC from outside the organization and for the Kraft’s to try once to find someone new, but it is what it is.

Vrabel will prob be fine but it’s super uninspiring. Especially when he brings in McDaniels for OC.

Just ordered a chicken parm sub from a new bakery in town and absolutely pissed now. My number one trait I look for is “am I full?” after eating it. Nope. Not even close.

Then I can begin to entertain the quality of it. And nope, mediocre at best.

Now I prob have to go order McDonald’s or something because I’m still hungry after spending $14 on that stupid sub
